First, let me say that the worst atrocities of our time are unfolding right now in Gaza—whether the mainstream media reports it or not. The fall of Syria—the Middle East’s last true bastion of Christianity—appears to be putting Christian faith next on the hit list. My prayers, a number of my writings, and—to an extent—my money, have gone out to the people of Palestine and Syria.
I have several serious writing projects underway right now. As my regular readers know, I occasionally take a break from the serious to the comedic. Because God gave us the gift of laughter.
But I don’t think anyone is laughing in Gaza right now. Nothing in this post is meant to make light of their intense suffering. It is entirely aimed at their chief immediate oppressor, Benjamin Netanyahu. Memes sometimes convey concepts better than straight expository writing.
Almost all of these memes were made before the post-October 7 Israeli campaign of extermination and conquest. I built my following on Twitter/X largely by memes, until—about three years ago—Twitter/X, overnight, began a strict shadow-ban on me. The ban is enforced by a simple process: tightly limiting the number of views any Tweet I make receives, astronomically below what AI says they should be receiving. For that reason, I rarely make memes these days—they aren’t worth the effort if Twitter/X conceals them from my followers anyway. I know that quite a few other people are shadow-banned on the platform also, despite Musk’s utterances about “free speech.”
The memes in this post were made over the course of nearly 10 years. This is just a sampling. Quite a few of my Netanyahu memes were related to specific news items that not many people would remember now.
